We all want our children to be as healthy as they can. When holidays come around, unhealthy treats and snacks seem to creep in much easier. Parties, school, grandparents, etc. are all places for more and more sugary treats to sneak in. Now, we love a good Healthy Chocolate Lovers Gift from time to time, but instead of offering them even more candy in their Easter basket why not fill it with fun and health promoting surprises? Giving healthy gifts is a wonderful way to get children excited about doing healthy activities without them ever guessing what you are up to 😉
One of the very best things we can do for our bodies is to exercise. Most children (and adults) spend much more time in front of the TV than exercising. Giving children healthy “play” items will have them exercising up a storm in no time. Exercise helps remove depression, anxiety and obesity in children and adults. It also helps build a strong heart, muscles and bones as well as increasing immunity and helping with overall mood and sleeping at night.
It’s easy to see how filling a basket with sidewalk chalk, soccer balls, jump rope, frisbees, bubbles, Nerf guns, croquet, footballs, etc. can encourage children to run, play and ultimately feel their very best.
If you would like to also add some tasty snacks try some Easy Soft and Gooey Granola Bars, Fantastic Fiber Fig Bars, Guilt Free Peanut Butter Cookies or Orange Chia Seed Pudding. There is nothing at all wrong with healthy treats in the right amounts!
What do you like to do to encourage your kids to exercise? We’d love to hear from you in the comments!
