Clear skin is something everyone wants. There are products everywhere that say they will help achieve this goal. The problem is that most of the products you find in stores, on-line or with makeup companies are full of terrible ingredients that will ultimately make skin issues worse. Our skin is clear if our bodies are healthy, so if you are putting unhealthy products on it acts as a sad kind of band aid nothing more. The good news is that there are organic, natural and safe alternatives that will leave your skin and your body healthy, happy and beautiful!
Aloe Vera is one of our favorite face cleansers and healers. You can use the gel straight from the plant or you can buy some 100% Aloe Vera juice. With the juice make sure it’s 100%, you don’t want any of those nasty preservatives.
After you finish your nightly face washing routine, take some of the gel and spread very thin over your face. If you are using the juice wet a cotton ball and dip a tiny bit of it into the juice. We have found that the juice tends to be a little more concentrated so you don’t need very much on the cotton ball. Wipe your face with the cotton ball and you are done!
For extra healing and cleansing benefits we have found using a drop or two of Lavender essential oil (here or here) on a wet organic cotton ball before the Aloe Vera works fantastic. If the Lavender dries out your face a little you can use some organic Rose Water to moisturize. Another benefit of using some Lavender is that it can reduce or eliminate scaring over time! Who wouldn’t want that, right?
We have been using Aloe Vera on our face for years and couldn’t be more pleased! It clears up blemishes and leaves you with a nice clear complexion after a little consistency. We use it every night for easy maintenance.
Healthy skin is something we can all have if we just treat our bodies right. A couple more ideas to help with this are to start adding green, veggie juice into your daily diet. Juicing floods our bodies with good nutrients. Most of us have a hard time eating the right amount of vegetables that are needed. With juice you get it faster and easier in a form that is very easy to assimilate. You won’t believe how good you feel and how nice your skin will become! For a little more info on juicing benefits check out Reboot with Joe. We love his documentaries, Fat Sick and Nearly Dead and Fat Sick and Nearly Dead 2. You can also find them on Amazon Instant Video here and here.
Foundation is really hard on the skin because it clogs up your pores. If you start to eat healthy and use cleaner products on your skin you will get to the point where you won’t need any at all anyway!
A good rule of thumb while you are researching is if you wouldn’t eat it don’t put it on your skin.

As always when using a new product be careful. You might want to test it on a small area first to assure there is no allergic reaction.
