Hello friends and welcome back to What’s Up Wednesday! We wanted to take a quick minute and talk to you about real food today and how doable it really can be.
The struggle that most people have when trying to transition into a healthier lifestyle is not conviction. We all know we can do better in one area or another. What most people do struggle with is the time commitment. We are all busy people! Who has hours and hours to spend in the kitchen? We sure don’t!
You may have noticed that we have changed our logo to include “Real Food for Real People.” This is because this is the area we really want to help people with! After years and years of fad dieting (the so called “healthy diets”), detoxing and frustration we have finally found that a real food and pure lifestyle does not have to require long hours in the kitchen and food that tastes bland. A healthy lifestyle can and should be doable, life promoting and very, very enjoyable.
Now we do want to say that eating healthy does take some time. It’s not as fast as popping a TV dinner in the microwave, that’s for sure. But isn’t your health and the health of your family worth investing some time in? Most healthy meals can be whipped up in about 30 minutes or less if you know the right tricks. Plus you get leftovers tomorrow! Are we the only ones who feel that leftovers are a lifesaver?
Here are 3 fantastic facts about a real food lifestyle:
A real food diet simply means eating food that is not littered with chemicals and poisons. This includes things like artificial colors, artificial flavors, preservatives, antibiotics in meat and dairy, harmful fertilizers that the produce is grown in, etc. These chemicals were never meant to be consumed by man and do so much harm to the body. The safest way to ensure that you are purchasing (or growing) real food is to keep it organic whenever possible. This means your food will be kept in it’s pure form and have the most nutrition!
Eating real includes all kinds of delicious food! Rather than fad dieting and taking certain kinds of food away you actually want to add in every good food. The key is simply moderation and eating the right combinations of foods in their pure form. Veggies, fruits, seeds, whole grains, fats, dairy, and the list goes on.
Practice makes perfect. Remember that when you are learning anything new it always takes a little while to get the hang of. It might take a little more time and some trial and error but as soon as you’ve got it you’ve got it! Health for you and for your family is worth it. You got this! 😉
