This is an easy recipe that we have been using for years. Sometimes we like to add cooked grains into the batter for a little extra fiber and nutrition. It gives it a fun twist too!
World's Best Waffles
- 3 cups fresh ground flour
- 1 Tbs. baking powder
- 1 ½ tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. Real Salt
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups buttermilk
- ½ milk
Combine dry ingredients. Mix together well. Add wet ingredients and stir until combined. Cook and enjoy!
Note: if you don’t have buttermilk on hand supplement by adding 1 Tbs. vinegar to 3 cups milk.
This recipe also works fantastic as pancake batter. We like to top it with fresh strawberry syrup!
Slice 3 cups of fresh or frozen strawberries into a saucepan. Drizzle 1-2 Tbs. Honey over top. Add 1/4th cup water and heat until strawberries start to soften. If you like it smooth you can blend with a stick blender.

Black Bean Burgers for lunch! They were super easy because we made a double batch last time and froze some. It’s a great way to get in our ½ cup of beans every day. We topped it with avocado, onion, tomato, and Bubbie’s sauerkraut.
Cabbage salad for dinner. We put our own twist on the classic Top Ramen cabbage salad by using whole grains and seeds instead of the noodles. We also add our own spices. It’s super yummy! You can find the recipe HERE.
