Quick and Easy All in One Breakfast - A fast and hearty meal for kids going back to school or a healthy grab and go on your way to work!

We’ve all had those days when everything needs to get done right now and we feel like we are going insane. Whenever this happens it seems that healthy food (or eating at all for that matter) tends to fall to the back of the list. Thankfully there are some tricks and shortcuts to help! One of which is these hearty and tasty All in One Breakfast Waffles!

If you start the dough the night before and make the sausage ahead of time these cook up really quick. They also freeze very well fully cooked! Perfect for a grab and go meal or snack. If you have a little more time and would like you can cut the dough into squares, spread the filling in, and crimp the edges for cute little pockets!

Quick and Easy All in One Breakfast

Ingredients

Directions

Fry sausage until cooked through. Add eggs and stir continuously until eggs are cooked. Roll out biscuit dough flat, spread egg and sausage mixture evenly on the biscuit and top with another flattened biscuit. Lightly crimp the sides and transfer onto a waffle iron. Cook until the biscuit is browned.

Sourdough Biscuits

We found this recipe in one of our favorite Taste of Home magazines. We, however, make it with organic ingredients and whole wheat flour and we allow for soaking time.

Ingredients

Directions

Combine whole wheat flour, butter, sourdough starter and buttermilk in a glass bowl. Let sit in a warmish place for 6-12 hours. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. If you choose to bake these rather than waffle them bake at 425º until golden brown. We actually use all of the sourdough starter that we have left after freshening our start and these turn out perfect every time. You may need extra flour however.

What is your family’s grab and go food?
