Spicy Veggie Kabobs for a healthy summer! Great for picnics, barbecues, grilling and the fire pit


Everyone loves summer food and a fun picnic or barbecue! This recipe is sooo fun because it has healthy veggies and you still get to enjoy the grill. It can be a good way to get kids to eat veggies because it’s unusual and colorful. You can easily gauge how hot you want it so it’s perfect for your family. If you have a fire pit you can grill them over it too!

Remember to keep your ingredients organic for optimum nutrition!

Spicy Veggie Kabobs


For Kabobs:

Veggies and fruit of choice cut into large chunks
(you might like the following)

  • yellow squash
  • zucchini
  • mushrooms (any variety)
  • pineapple
  • strawberries
  • bell peppers
  • red onion
  • asparagus
  • snap peas
  • radishes

For Sauce:

Equal portions of ketchup and hot pepper jelly. If you like it a little hotter use less ketchup. If you don’t like the heat use less hot pepper jelly.


Place veggies and fruit of choice on a skewer. Place on preheated grill and brush with sauce. You don’t want them to cook too fast or they will burn on the outside and be raw on the inside so keep the heat a little low. Turn periodically until desired tenderness. Enjoy!
