New Years Eve is almost upon us! A new year is always so exciting. It’s a time to reflect, smile on good memories and plan another great year. Most of us have goals for our health in a new year. With this in mind we decided to share a little about juicing for health with you!

If you are not acquainted with juicing for health it can be a little confusing at first. What juicing is taking fresh veggies and fruits and putting them through a juicer (such as a Breville or a Champion). We all know that the more fruits and veggies we can eat the healthier we will be. However, the problem most of us have is trying to eat them all. It can be a bit intimidating. Juicing them fixes that. Instead of trying to fit them all on your plate you can simply drink them down in no time at all. Juicing floods our bodies with micro nutrients. Common results are weight loss, dramatic increase of energy, glowing skin and overall increase in health.

Today we wanted to share a couple of our favorite recipes and some easy peasy tips. One thing that is often hard for beginning juicers is getting used to the taste of veggie juice. A common mistake is adding too many greens or veggies. Realizing that it’s okay to add more fruit than veggies at first really makes a difference. Juicing can actually taste really good! It’s fun to experiment with different foods and see which you like the best. Over time you will become more accustomed to the veggies and you will actually start to crave juice! We love the wonderful energy boost it gives. No better way to start the day!

In addition to adding more fruit, lemons and limes add great flavor as well as nutrition. Cilantro and parsley may sound a little weird but they have fantastic health promoting and cleansing properties. They bring a wonderful flavor too!

If you are wanting to look into juicing a little more we highly recommend checking out Joe Cross and Jason Vale. They have both been huge blessings in our lives and have taught us so much! They both have some documentaries that are life changing to say the least. Jason Vale also has some fantastic juicing apps that help guide you through a juice cleanse if you feel like that would be beneficial for you.

Speaking of Jason Vale we wanted to share one of our favorite recipes from him! He calls it his Ginger Shot. It is amazing! It’s one of the only things we have found that helps with sleep apnea. Note: There aren’t really any measurements when it comes to juicing. Just add the amounts you like best. There is no right or wrong way to juicing! Now, on to the good stuff!

Ingredients

  • apples
  • carrots
  • lemon
  • greens (spinach, kale, beet greens, etc.)
  • lemon
