Turmeric has been said to have so many health benefits, the list is huge! Anti-inflammatory, aids depression, reduces cholesterol, works as a blood purifier, prevents bloating, heals stomach ulcers and improves skin conditions to name just a few of the reported benefits. With all this in mind trying to fit turmeric into our diets might be a good idea.

One yummy way to enjoy turmeric is in a smoothie! However when you consume turmeric it is important to get the full benefits, black pepper and a healthy fat (such as coconut oil) with turmeric help aid digestion and helps absorption of the curcumin. Directions

Put all ingredients in a Vitamix or a Blendtec blender. Process until frothy. Serve and enjoy!

If you don’t have any fresh mint leaves try using ½ tsp, cardamom. It brings a nice sweetness to the smoothie!

    I’ve been trying to get myself to really like turmeric in drinks because it’s so good for you! I think smoothies might be the key.
