Christmas is only a few short days away and we have a couple more Christmas recipes to share with you.
This Salted Caramel is out of this world delicious! While healthy treats are by far our favorite we still on rare occasion have a treat with a little more sugar. However, one of the best things about this Caramel is that there is no GMO corn syrup. All of the ingredients are pure (as long as you keep them organic) and it’s a great once or twice a year treat. Just like our Caramel Apple Dip we’ve adapted this recipe from our Buttermilk Syrup. It’s a real treat that the whole family can enjoy!
Butter an 8 inch glass pan. Put all ingredients except vanilla in a large, deep sauce pan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Keep stirring as it boils for 15-20 minutes or until it reaches hard ball stage. (You have reached hard ball stage when you can drop a small spoonful in a glass of cold water and can shape it into a ball, then when you try to remove it from the water it keeps it’s shape) Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into prepared pan and let sit 5-7 minutes. Sprinkle with Kosher salt. Wrap in wax paper squares when cooled.
