Can a brownie be guilt-free? You bet it can! When you use the right ingredients, anything is possible. We’ve got the perfect last minute, quick and easy gift for your Valentine this year. After all, chocolate makes the heart grow fonder 😉
Sucanat is one of the secrets to these delightful brownies. It keeps them moist and gooey, just the way a good brownie should be. Sucanat is a much better alternative to highly refined white sugars. Because Sucanat retains it’s natural sugar content, it can contain potassium, calcium, magnesium and vitamin A. All are very important for a healthy life. You still want to be careful about how much sugar you eat, but Sucanat is definitely a safer option. (source)
Another thing that makes these brownies guilt-free is that they are made with Whole Wheat. Among other things, Whole Wheat can support heart health, prevent type 2 diabetes, support weight control and prevent cancer. (source)

Healthy Last Minute Love Brownies
Remember to keep your ingredients organic for optimum nutrition!
- 1 ⅓ cup soft butter
- 2 ⅓ cup Sucanat
- 4 eggs
- 1 Tbs. vanilla
- ½ cup cacao
- 1 tsp. Real Salt
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
Combine all ingredients except flour in a KitchinAid or Bosch mixer. Cream well. Add flour and mix until combined. Pour into a greased 9×13 pan. Bake at 350º for 25-35 minutes. The best way to tell if they are done is that the brownie edges will pull away from the pan. Let cool and cut into heart shapes with a cookie cutter. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
