How does some healthy Game Day food sound!? These sliders are a total touchdown. Why sacrifice nutrition for flavor? With recipes like these delicious sliders on homemade pretzel buns, you can have both. Add some Clean Eating Baked Potato Logs or Rosemary Sweet Potato Fries and you are ready to cheer your team to victory.
Sliders are very easy to dress up or dress down depending on your family’s tastes. Some blue cheese or goat cheese melted on top make them a really classy treat. However, some pickles, mustard, and ketchup keep them all American and amazing. Either way, there is something for everyone.
Pretzel Buns really add a fun flair and aren’t at all hard to make. All we did was take our Quick Rolls recipe and fix them up a bit. Tah dah! Pretzel Buns.

Remember to keep your ingredients organic for optimum nutrition!
- 1 pound organic grass-fed ground beef
- ¾ cup rolled oats
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbs. dry minced onion
- ¼ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. onion powder
- Real Salt and black pepper to taste
- desired condiments and veggies
Combine all ingredients except condiments and veggies. Shape into slider patties and fry or grill until done. Place on cooled Pretzel Buns with desired condiments and veggies.
Whole Wheat Pretzel Buns
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- ½ cup melted butter
- 2 Tbs. honey
- 1 tsp. Real Salt
- 6 cups whole wheat flour (more or less)
- 2 Tbs. yeast
- sesame seeds to garnish
Combine all ingredients except sesame seeds in a large mixing bowl adding the flour and yeast last with the yeast resting on top of the flour. We like to use our KitchenAid or Bosch for this. Start with 5 cups of flour and add more as needed. Keeping the dough very soft, knead until elastic (this should only take 3-4 minutes). Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Shape into rolls and let sit until they double in size. Using a bread lame or a very sharp knife, slash each roll once or twice to give it the pretzel look. Brush on Egg Wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 375º until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
Mix all ingredients together well and brush onto rolls before placing into the oven.
