Creamy Caramel Cinnamon Rolls – We have often used this recipe when we’ve needed a fast and easy treat for company. If you like healthy comfort food then you are about to fall in love!

A friend asked us the other day if we would share our Creamy Caramel Cinnamon Rolls recipe. We were actually a little surprised that we haven’t shared it with you yet! It’s a recipe that we have often used when we needed a fast and easy treat for company. If you like healthy comfort food then you are about to fall in love.

One thing that makes this recipe so easy is the fact that you can choose from a wide range of dough recipes. Easy Peasy Whole Wheat Bread, Un-Sour Sourdough or Quick Rolls all work fantastic. Pick your favorite and you are ready to go!

Whole Wheat can have benefits such as aiding weight loss, lowering the risk of type 2 diabetes, lessening chronic inflammation and protecting against heart disease among other things. After our experience with a gluten free diet we think it should totally be in the superfood category!

Cinnamon contains both fiber and calcium with can protect against heart disease and help with colon health. Just the scent of cinnamon alone can boost brain function. It’s also anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial.

Both Cream and Butter are great sources for healthy fats which can aid heart health, hormonal health, brain health and help the absorption of fat soluble vitamins like A, D, E and K.

Raw Honey contains antioxidants which can help protect the body from cell damage. Raw Honey is also known for it’s antibacterial and antifungal properties and can aid digestion.

Creamy Caramel Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

Whole Wheat Bread dough OR Un-Sour Sourdough bread dough
½ cup butter, melted
½ cup honey
1 ½ cups cream
cinnamon to taste

Directions

Pour melted butter into a 9×13 pan making sure to completely coat the bottom of the pan with butter. Roll desired dough out into a rectangle shape to desired thickness (we like ours pretty thin). Sprinkle cinnamon onto the dough. Roll the dough up and slice as you would cinnamon rolls. Place into the 9×13 pan. Cover, set in a warm place and allow to rise until double in size. After rising time, very carefully pour honey and cream around the edges and in between the rolls. Be careful not to pour over the rolls too much as this will flatten them. Bake at 350º until golden brown. This should take about 20-25 minutes.
